All You Need to Know About Singapore’s Upcoming Jurong Region Line: A New MRT Line to Boost Connectivity in the Western Part of the Island

Singapore’s upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL) is one of the country’s most eagerly anticipated infrastructure projects. This 24-kilometer, 24-station MRT line will boost connectivity in the western part of the island, improving access to residential, commercial and industrial areas.

The JRL will run through the towns of Jurong East, Tengah, Choa Chu Kang, Boon Lay and Pioneer, connecting them to the rest of Singapore’s rail network. There will be 6 interchange stations along the route, allowing commuters to switch between the JRL and other MRT lines such as the East West Line, North South Line and the upcoming Cross Island Line.

The JRL will provide direct access to key employment areas such as the Jurong Innovation District, Tuas Port and Jurong Lake District. These areas are expected to create thousands of new jobs for Singaporeans, and the JRL will make it easier for residents to access these employment opportunities.
